In the 1997-1998 winter season, they leased two F40PHs from Amtrak to test them out. There were some power issues which made them realize they would need at least three units. Here, two Amtrak F40PHs sit on the Ski Train in the siding at Fraser. These would not end up being the units the Ski Train would eventually acquire.
