AMTK 184, the Phase IV heritage unit, leads a standard Phase V P42DC and an ALC-42 (AMTK 301) in the 50th Anniversary scheme. AMTK 301 has been dropped off at various crew change points so crews can learn and get used to the new units that will be replacing Amtrak's aging fleet of P42DCs. The Zephyr often will hold here for 10-15 minutes to give passengers a chance to stretch their legs. The car is now owned by John Paul DeJoria, the founder of Patrón Spirits Company. Apparently, John Paul DeJoria is friends with actor Dan Akroyd, and it is not uncommon for Akroyd to accompany DeJoria on the car. Here, the train is making its station stop at Fraser on the main track. The engineer just gave a blast on the horn, telling passenger that stepped off to stretch their legs that it is time to get back onboard. The train is starting to slow as the head end is now on the 2% grade. The train would ultimately slow to 5 MPH on its way up to the tunnel, but it did not stall out and ultimately made it over the top of the hill.
