Well, I should say the goal is to get pictures of all the remaining units. Several have been scrapped after accidents. However, AMTK 7 is one unit that I hadn't seen yet when I took this shot in Fraser. At this point, I've got nearly 60% of them recorded. As the sign on the platform indicates, Fraser is 8,574 feet above sea level. In this shot, passengers briefly stretch their legs and get a few pictures on the platform. Amtrak's age (and deferred maintenance) shows on the nose of AMTK 199. The train will hang around at Fraser for about 10 minutes to give passengers time to board or disembark. In the 1997-1998 winter season, they leased two F40PHs from Amtrak to test them out. There were some power issues which made them realize they would need at least three units. Here, two Amtrak F40PHs sit on the Ski Train in the siding at Fraser. These would not end up being the units the Ski Train would eventually acquire.
