Earlier in the day, these two units could be found on the point of the Valmont coal load. The units cut away from their train (the HPASSAG) at Broomfield to help pull the Valmont train over Westminster Hill. After returning to Broomfield, the power tied on and a short time later, continued south into town.

Nearing the end of its long run, this southbound manifest cleared its warrant and thanked the dispatcher for a good run from Cheyenne to Denver! Meanwhile, I was thanking BNSF for selecting such nice power for the trip south.

Two SD75s (the leader an SD75I and the trailer an SD75M) lead this unit tie train into Denver off the Front Range Sub. The first car - the empty flat - is there as a buffer car between the power and the unit train.

The northbound Cheyenne Local is just getting underway as it departs from Denver with BNSF 8022 and FURX 7224 for power. Note the train passing underneath the (relatively new) Belt Line Flyover in the distance.

The paint scheme applied to the "Oakway" leasing SD60's, which came out fresh in the mid-1980's, is one of my favorite schemes. I've always been a fan of blue, so I particularly like these units. Twenty years later, their paint is still holding up pretty well for the most part! EMD 9082 is leading a northbound Military Train on the Front Range Sub the day after Thanksgiving.

EMD 9082 leads a northbound Military train north out of Utah Junction with a new track warrant. The train, loaded mostly with trucks and hummers, will make its first stop of the day at Broomfield to wait for two southbounds. UP's new Belt Flyover runs over the Front Range Sub in the background.
