After an hour of waiting, two units from the HPASSAG - which tied down in Broomfield - showed up and tied onto the front of the train. After another hour of working, the train was finally ready to pull. Five units on the point of the Valmont coal train on the Front Range Sub...not something you see very often! The crew on the HLAUDEN died here at MP 16, tied the train down, and was picked up by a crew van. However, somebody forgot to flip the lights off before leaving! The units cut away from their train (the HPASSAG) at Broomfield to help pull the Valmont train over Westminster Hill. The newer units have isolated cabs similar to the SD70MAC's from ten year ago. I have heard some crew members say that the cabs of the non-isolated SD70ACe's can be louder than SD40-2's! An SD75I - with a very nice Warbonnet scheme - leads up the train. The conductor on the ground is preparing to cut the units away from the auto racks. Here, the train is on the approach to Sand Creek with a nice set of power on the point. An SD75I in Warbonnet on an SD70MAC in Green and Cream lead the train.
