Just west of the siding of Plain, an eastbound coal train is nearing the end of its trip through the tunnel district as it emerges from Tunnel 3.

Looks like a narrow squeeze through this cut just east of Tunnel 3 for this westbound coal empty, but the train makes it through without problem.

No doubt the most famous F-unit on the Rio Grande roster, F9 5771 now sits in the Colorado Railroad Museum. It has been fully restored in the four-stripe paint scheme (which it never actually wore in active service!).
