A unit covered hopper train sits on the siding at Leyden waiting for a relief crew to come take it the remaining 12 miles into town. The trains was probably 5,500 feet long and had DPU both at the mid-point and the end of the train.

One of the few remaining unpatched Santa Fe warbonnets was one of three mid-train C44-9CWs sitting on the siding at Leyden on this May day.
