The train met an westbound hirailer at East Portal. The hirailer was trying to make his way to Winter Park (via the tunnel) for track inspection. All of these units were "B-units" (meaning they could not lead a train), and all but twelve of these former Missouri Pacific units have been retired. A string of 20 units ranging from newer power to classic power sits on run-around track in North Yard. Meanwhile, a remote control operator moves a set of switchers out of the way on the lead to make room for three units from the MNPNY to pull off the train on yard track four.
