The train was a Grand Junction to Amarillo manifest (symbol: HGJCAMA) that will stop in Rennicks before continue south on the Joint Line later in the day. DRGW 3097 - the last Grande geep in the 30xx range - finished its Rio Grande life as the Colorado Springs switcher back in 2005. Amtrak backs in behind the left field wall of Coors Field. In about six weeks, the Colorado Rockies will start a new season with high hopes! The inbound crew, which brought the train in from Lincoln, NE is switching out with the outbound crew, which will take the train to Grand Junction, CO. The second unit is in the process of receiving fuel and passenger are disembarking/boarding on the opposite side of the train. Within the next few years, this shot may be impossible if the tracks here are buried as has been reported for the Union Station redevelopment project. The train will meet Amtrak 5 at Utah Junction before continuing south on the Main Track to Prospect Junction, where it will cross over to BNSF tracks and proceed into the yard.
