Six years later and that same unit was found switching on the Roydale Local (the LDJ03) at Roydale. Looks a bit different from six years ago... The train is approaching the former (and possibly future) location of Sandown Junction. It was here that the Rock Island would leave the KP Line to head for the Belt Line and connect with DRGW. The train is moving at restricted speed as it is following a coal empty into the yard using a box 4 and a box 11 on its track warrant. The local is passing the switching yard at Monaco Street. It came out of the General Electric shops in Erie, PA in October 2007. The unit is on tap to run as the power on the MDVSI-02 later in the evening. It is becoming increasingly hard to find one, and I was lucky to have stumbled across SP 319 as the second unit on the CNANX-01. The train came from the North Antelope Mine and is now waiting for its crew near Fox Junction. It is ultimately headed for the Nixon power plant near Colorado Springs.
