Note that "Union Pacific" is not spelled out on the long hood, and indeed something else has been covered up. In March 1997, UP took delivery of 10 AC4400CW's that served as warranty protection units. They were in armour yellow, but were lettered "GECX" and were numbered GECX 4000 to GECX 4009. UP purchased the units out right in January 1998 and the units were soon renumbered to UP 7000-UP 7009. By April 2001, the renumbering had been completed.
