The HPASSAG has become a very common train on the Front Range Sub, showing up just about daily in addition to the HLAUDEN and HDENLAU. BNSF 844 is one of the few C40-8Ws to wear the New Image scheme as of this date. The train is about to pass underneath US-36 just south of the siding of Broomfield.

This BNSF Officers Special departed Topeka, KS on May 2, ran to Denver, up the Brush Sub and around through Wyoming up to Laurel, MT. And now down again on the Front Range Sub, through Denver, down the Joint Line and back out to Topeka. A quick 4-day run around the block!

An Officers Special, train symbol O-LAUTOP1-04A, head south through the siding at Broomfield with Longs Peak standing tall in the background. The special came down the Front Range Sub from Laurel, MT and is ultimately headed back to Topeka, KS (where it originated a few days earlier).

Beef! It's what's for dinner (apologies to all you vegetarians!) ... The northbound Valmont coal load, led up by BNSF 5807 and two UP AC4400CWs, passes a field along Brainard Road in Broomfield. A few cows looks on with disinterest as they search for fresh grass to graze on.
