When was the last time you purchased peaches at a Colorado grocery store? There is a good chance it came from Palisade, CO just east of Grand Junction. Here, the Zephyr passes the east switch of Palisade alongside some peach groves.

There is a canyon between Palisade, CO and De Beque, CO that is difficult to shoot in. That made me determined to find a place to stop and shoot! A quick hike up from the highway yielded this result of the Zephyr on the main at the siding of Tunnel.

Just east of the east switch of Lacy, the Zephyr is moving at track speeds in excess of 60 MPH as it hustles along in order to make its station stop in Glenwood Springs on time.

One of the best places in the world in my humble opinion! The Zephyr is on the east siding at Glenwood Springs, pulling in to the clear. You can see a group of people standing on the platform, ready to load up for the trip east.

I love this picture. It just seems to peaceful. The Zephyr is on the Dotsero cutoff here between Dotsero and Range, following along the Colorado River. What more really needs to be said!?

Range is an appropriate name for this siding located in the middle of an open range. The tracks are straight as an arrow through the entire siding!

In this shot, the Zephyr is located right around the former location of the east switch of Yarmony. After a derailment in 2001, UP lengthened the siding at move the east switch further west so it wasn't on a curve.

From Inspiration Point, the Zephyr looks more like a model as it works its way east past the east switch of Azure. The train is about to head straight in to one of the most magnificent canyons on its journey: Gore Canyon.

The Zephyr is pretty insignificant compares to the massive canyon walls of Gore Canyon. The canyon is inaccessible unless you are on a train, know how to ride the rapids, or want to do some serious hiking!
