I like this picture not only for the approaching train, but for the components in the foreground. As you can see by the sign to the right, westbound trains change radio channels at this location, and also change dispatchers. If you look closely, you will notice some lighter colored ballast underneath the lead unit of the train. The frog was just recently replaced by maintenance crews and some new ballast was put down as well to help with erosion from lost of precipitation. I actually spoke with this conductor briefly up at Cliff. He let me know that they were waiting in the siding for a westbound that was having engine troubles. He was a very nice guy.
