March is traditionally the snowiest month in Colorado, although March 2016 hasn't really reflect that fact. At least, up until the 18th when a good winter storm came in. The snow actually started falling the night before and continued overnight. BNSF's Provo-Denver manifest glides east through the white stuff between Leyden and Rocky. The rails are completely covered, which is logical as the last train to pass over the rails was the eastbound Zephyr 15 hours earlier!

Houses in Arvada's newest neighborhood, Leyden Rock, are just barely visible through the falling snow of this Winter storm, just a few days before the official start of Spring! BNSF's HPVODEN1-17A (Provo-Denver manifest) passes by, unaffected by the snow.

Running just a few minutes late, the westbound Zephyr charges toward the east end of Barbara's Gulch through the freshly falling snow. With a pair of P42s, a [new] baggage car, and eight Superliners, the Zephyr's consist is totally normal.

The wind is blowing and the snow is falling as the westbound Zephyr disappears into a cloud of white powder. March is trying hard to keep its reputation as the snowiest month in Colorado.
