A wintery February morning. The first one Colorado has had the entire month this year. The westbound Zephyr passes by the siding at Leyden running roughly 35 minutes early. How can the Zephyr depart a station early? Because someone (a company, perhaps?) booked the entire train. With nobody getting on or off, the train made a quick stop in Denver for a crew change. The entire train has been booked by a single person or entity, so the train can actually run ahead of schedule without any problem. You'd think there'd be more opportunities for such shots in the Denver area...and some winters you'd be correct. This has not been one of those winters though. It has been very warm and dry. A Lounge car on the end of the Zephyr. The consist of the Zephyr isn't scrabbled per se...there are actually two Lounge cars on the Zephyr on this morning. The "Public Service" coal train, however, has two. This is because this train is actually a little longer than most of the coal trains on the Moffat and the power from the extra units is definitely justified.
