Every once in awhile, a visitor from south of the border makes its way up north for a little power sharing. Such is the case here as a Ferromex ES44AC rolls west on the Moffat just east of Tolland.

An eastbound Roper to North Yard manifest approaches the grade crossing at Blue Mountain. The unit has an interesting (quick hack?) number board on the conductor's side! It also has a GP40-2 and SD40-2 coming along for the ride.

A GP40M-2 of Espee heritage (SP 7129) catches a ride on the MRONY. My guess is that the units was in Grand Junction and is due for a 92-day inspection. With the closure of Burnham, that likely means this guy will be continuing on to North Platte, NE.

An SD40-2, currently offline, is likely due for an inspection and is making its way toward North Platte, NE. Prior to the closing of Burnham in February 2016, the unit could have simply been inspected in Denver. Now, it has another 500 or so miles added to its journey!

Heat radiates off the ES44AC and SD70M leading this MRONY (Manifest, Roper, UT to North Yard, CO) around Big Ten Curve. Note the hoppers on the inside of the curve. Those hoppers have been there as a windbreak for over forty years now.
