The neighborhood did not exist five years ago, but hundreds of new houses have been built since then. If the "Jefferson Parkway" is ever built, it will cross the track in this shot. The train is just over 7,000 feet long and is mostly made up of empties. A nice SD70ACe led the train from Roper in Salt Lake to North Yard in Denver. That part of the train is just to the left of UP 9053. Because the train is 7,000-feet long, it couldn't fit in most of the sidings along the Moffat, Leyden included. In Golden, you'll find a lower yard, which is where the cars to and from Coors go, and an upper yard, which is where the cars along the Golden Sub go that are not destined for Coors. BNSF runs a local out of the Golden to switch industries along the line. The cars are then brought back to the upper yard where a train is built to take them to Denver.
