This even includes a couple occasions I saw it run on the Moffat. While I am glad that it is going to be maintained at the Railroading Heritage of Midwest America museum in Silvas, IL, I am sad that it will no longer roam free on throughout UP's system. As the crew of UP's hospital train looks over the equipment on Main 2, they are notified of a "hot rail" on Main 1, an indication that a train is coming by. Plains, fencing, tumbleweeds, and the occasional train! A tumbleweed is stuck in a barbed wire fence as UP 5716 leads an eastbound hospital train on Main 2. I am not sure why it was removed, or if it is being included with the donation of the unit to the Railroading Heritage of Midwest America museum. For example, the 4-6-6-4 "Challenger", which is also on this hospital train, is 121 feet long (including its tender), nearly 50 feet longer! Whether the engine (or engines) are "under steam" (powered) or not! Case-in-point is the not insignificant crowd gathered here to watch UP 5716 pulling UP 3985 (4-6-6-4) and UP 5511 (2-10-2) along with the rest of a hospital train heading for donation to the Railroading Heritage of Midwest America museum in Silvas, IL. However, in this case, it is not particularly relevant as the unit is merely a fellow passenger on this eastbound hospital train passing by rocks near Burns, WY on the Sidney Sub. The "green jacket" turned out to be some yellow tape that was part of the operation. The sun is starting to get low as the hospital train rolls past a small elevator. I overheard the crew on the train mentioned that this is the first time in at least 70 years at UP 5511 has been in Nebraska! In the distance, just one block back, you can see the headlights from an eastbound grain train which has finally managed to cross over to Main 1 and will overtake the hospital train.
