However, you can catch it in a little bit of direct sunlight close to the Moffat Tunnel. Here, the train is passing by the handful of houses found in Tolland. Most are summer houses, currently boarded up and empty. However, one single house, which the Zephyr is about to pass, is home to a Gilpin County Sheriff. Considering we are in the middle January, the temperature is actually fairly warm at 30°F, here at 8,700 feet above sea level. The train was slightly delayed in departing Winter Park as it had to wait for the Moffat Tunnel to vent after a 25 minute late Zephyr went into the tunnel first.
