The train is preparing to pull passenger equipment out of Denver (which was present for the Democratic National Convention) to go to Saint Paul for the Republican National Convention. I started to realize this fact the week of the Democratic National Convention. They had buses all over the Union Station area, including this one. The Rocky Mountains with the Denver Skyline and a train in the foreground. Not only do they own the bus, but it looks like it was painted just for the convention! UPY 2622 is designated as an RP20GE. The unit is build on the frame of an [EMD] GP9. It uses electrical components from General Electric, and uses three 500 kW (low emission) diesel engines. The unit is capable of producing the equivalent of 2000 HP. As of this shot, UP currently has 98 units on their roster, most of which are in California and Texas.
