During the summer runs, the Ski Train adds a "Bike Car" to the consist. This car has been converted to carry mountain bikes up to Winter Park (at no extra cost) so passengers can get some exercise for the day! Here, a Ski Train volunteer wheels a bike up the ramp toward the open door.

In preparation for the Democratic National Convention, Union Pacific has built a bridge between the vestibules of these two cars. More than likely, guests will be walking down through one set of cars, across the bridge, and back up.

I didn't alter this shot at all using PhotoShop. This is actually what came out of the camera (as the saying goes). It can be difficult to get shots like this as the neon can be a bit underexposed or the moon can be a bit overexposed. Hard to find a "happy medium".

On the morning of Saturday, August 25, 2007, UP 844 led a passenger special down the joint line. It was the first (public) passenger train on the Joint Line since 1997. This is how the day started out for me. Steam rising up in front of Union Station.
