In Golden, you'll find a lower yard, which is where the cars to and from Coors go, and an upper yard, which is where the cars along the Golden Sub go that are not destined for Coors. BNSF runs a local out of the Golden to switch industries along the line. The cars are then brought back to the upper yard where a train is built to take them to Denver. As you can see in this view, the tracks that are not in service will eventually converge with the track on the left ahead at a yet-to-be-installed switch. BNSF's tracks will be rebuilt to the right. Currently, the Beer Run has an SD40-2 and a leased SD60. Although difficult to see from this angle, the ditch lights were malfunctioning. The Gold Line is a new commuter rail line that will run from Denver (Union Station) to Arvada and Wheat Ridge. Currently, BNSF is running on one of the two commuter rail lines. A new track for BNSF will be built off to the left and the commuter tracks will be used exclusively by the commuter trains. The train is currently using one of the tracks that will eventually be used for commuter trains. BNSF's track will be rebuilt roughly where the tire tracks in the snow are located.
