If only this engine could talk! A throw back to older times, and a tribute to Burlington Northern. This GE U30C was built in January 1972 and spent many years as a work horse for BN. Unlike most old units that end up scrapped and turned in to tomorrows razor blades, this unit was spared the torch and is now on display for all to see in Gillette Energy Park.

2011 or 1991? If it wasn't for the badly faded paint and the clear "BNSF" on the cabs, it might not be quite so easy to answer that question! An interesting pair of Cascade Green geeps (a GP39V and a GP50) head south passed the Valmont Power Plant with six cars on the Longmont Turn.

There are two "Beer Runs" each day for a total of four trains (two out of Golden, two into Golden). Today, the first beer run is holding west of Tennyson Street. The train is waiting for the MNYPH, which is about to leave C&S Jct. The hoppers to the right are sitting on the relatively new "Arvada Siding".

June 15, 2002 was the last time (as of the posting of this picture) that I saw an unpatched Burlington Northern SD9. This guy sits in BN's 23rd Street yard in Denver, CO.
