Here, the three GE units on the head end knock down the signal at West Tonville. The west switch is located nearly a small pond that helps to offer a nice foreground. Look a little closer! The radiator housing has a higher slope and the compartment that houses the prime mover is a bit higher. This is a General Electric prototype for an engine that complies with the EPA's Tier 4 emissions requirements. The unit (GECX 2022), along with the GE dynamometer test car (#100), are on the way to the Transportation Technology Center east of Pueblo. The train was rerouted due to flooding in the mid-west. The reroute definitely added some time as the train comes west into south Colorado from Kansas, north to Denver, east toward Fort Morgan, north into Nebraska, then west into Wyoming!
