A westbound loaded coal train makes its way down the Brush Sub between Barr and Irondale. The overpass in the background is 120th Avenue. The tracks run parallel here to I-76.

After meeting two eastbound coal empties at Barr, this westbound load is coming off the siding and headed toward town. The overpasses in the distance include E-470 (closest), an off-ramp and Buckley Road.

There is a nice lake, which is somewhat difficult to shoot, at the west switch of Tonville on the Brush sub. An Edgemont to Denver manifest heads for the signal alongside the lake.

Fall colors are pretty well in full swing down at the lower altitudes on the plains. The Edgemont to Denver manifest is just east of Barr running on clear signals headed back toward town.

The MNPNY is nearing the end of its trip from North Platte to North Yard. The train has just entered the Belt Line (from the Greeley Sub) at UP Junction. It is passing underneath Brighton Blvd and the BNSF Brush Sub.

Some major construction is underway behind Denver Union Station. All the station tracks are being ripped up. As of this shot, Track 1 is the only one left. A new temporary platform is being built a few hundred yards east of the current platform as seen in this shot. Amtrak will probably back in to the (existing) Track 1 for the last time in early 2011.

After leaving part of its train behind on yard track 4, the MNPNY is doubling over the rest of its train before tying up for the day.

Here was the power that came in to town on the MNPNY the day before. After being serviced, it now sits on the ready track in North Yard and will be placed on the MNYGJ the following day.

BNSF's Buck Local received a warrant from Longmont down to Clear Creek. It is about to pass the signal leading in to Utah Junction. Nothing like an all-EMD lash up!

Without a doubt my personal favorite B-B unit (at least since the GP30) is the GP60. The dynamic brake intake is very unique. Here, a GP60 (with an animated and friendly engineer!) leads the Buck Local down the Front Range Sub into Denver.
