The standard Rocky Mountaineer power is currently be worked on, so UP has leased the SD70Ms as substitute power. In addition to being the north end of North Yard, the main track for UP's Moffat Tunnel Sub and the main track for BNSF's Front Range Sub both cross UP's Belt Industrial Lead which leads to UP's Greeley Sub. A crazy number of tracks, switches, and signals are at this control point. Here, a red signal protects the diamond where BNSF's Front Range Sub and UP's Belt Industrial Lead cross. UP 1502 was built in in May 1971 as a GP40 for the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad (B&O 3776). It was later sold to Espee, becoming SP 7124, before eventually being rebuilt to Dash-2 specs and falling to UP ownership. Looking good for being 52 years old! Meanwhile, a yard job has pulled out of North Yard, on the North Yard Siding. The yard job is currently blocking the entrance into North Yard, hence to necessity for the manifest to hold out on the main.
