GE has, as of this photo, sold 1,117 Tier-4 units to six Class 1 railroads. By comparison, EMD has sold only 100 Tier-4 compliant SD70ACe-T4s, all to UP. With the closure of Burnham in Denver, no major repairs can be done in Denver. More than likely, the unit is headed to the shops there for maintenance. The train is following another southbound, sitting between switches ahead on the main. The local is hanging out of the north end of the siding. Interestingly, the units are only four years apart in terms of their build dates. The SD70M was built in 2002 and the SD70ACe was built in 2006.
