It has six units on the point for the trip west. They will be reconfigured 2x3x1 for the trip back east. So, it probably comes as no surprise that the Phase 3 Heritage Unit is my favorite! I would absolutely love to see Amtrak apply this scheme to its fleet once again. This particular Zephyr departed Chicago about an hour late as it had to pick up Superliners for the Winter Park Express (the new Ski Train). It also ended up having an SD70MAC added in the midwest. With a top speed of 70 MPH, that also slowed the train down a bit. Then, the SD70MAC was removed in Denver, along with the Superliners.
