Watch Nunn Grow! That is the motto that is stenciled on the water tower that stands tall over the small town, whose population is just under 500. Also in the frame is the Cheyenne Frontier Days special with UP's E9s and DDA40X leading.

A single ES44AC brings up the tail end of this southbound unit covered hopper train as it approaches a clear signal at the north end of Nunn. The town of Nunn has of population of roughly 475 people (as of 2013). The town motto (as seen on the water tower) is "Watch Nunn Grow".

There is a lot of controversy over whether or not UP's application of the American flag on its units is a good thing or a bad thing. While I don't care to get in to such a debate here on my website, I would like to point out that I do personally appreciate the effort that a UP employee made to clean the flag on the side of this somewhat dingy ES44AC.

There is a great bridge just north of Nunn, CO where US-85 crosses over UP's Greeley Subdivision. In the late afternoon, southbounds are hit with just about the best light you could ask for! Case-in-point is this southbound unit covered hopper train, headed for Milliken, CO.
