UP 8205, leading the ZLBDV-12, knocks down a Diverging Approach (red over yellow) signal at the north end of Carr, heading in to the siding. The northbound train that is being met is already between switches on the main. Should be just another few weeks and the trees here will have their leaves back for the summer.

It appears that the red signal on the siding at the north end of car is not currently working. As you can see, BNSF 6272 is looking at a dark signal as a southbound clears the north switch. Fortunately, crews treat a dark signal as though it is a red signal. I was not around to see if the signal successfully lit up green when it was time for the train to depart.

A trio of elephant-style GEs leads a southbound military train across Lone Tree Creek at the north end of Carr. The train is holding the main, but is restricted to 25 MPH as it is meeting a northbound military train with some "wide" equipment on board. The speed restriction will ensure both trains clear one another.

86 miles north of Denver, at the north switch of Carr, a southbound local crosses over Lone Tree Creek as it approaches a diverging approach (red over yellow) signal. It will be taking the siding to meet a northbound manifest. Fall colors are starting to show their...well...colors!

A southbound manifest knocked down the signal at the north end of Carr and enters in to the siding to meet a northbound empty grain train. The crew on the manifest will ask the crew on the grain empty to let them know when their last car is clear of the grade crossing. The crew on the manifest is calculating their train length as they believe there is a discrepancy from their train manifest. Their suspicion was correct, as the manifest showed 4,600 feet and the actually length was 5,700 feet. Turns out the discrepancy was due to a technology error with their (electric) manifest. A quick call with UP support got everything straightened out.

The eastbound California Zephyr crosses over Lone Tree Creek and is coming up to an Approach (yellow over red) signal at the north end of Carr. The westbound Zephyr is just entering the siding of Carr at the south end. Both Zephyrs are being rerouted through Wyoming due to a wildfire that has the tracks through Glenwood Canyon closed.

A problem with a bridge in between Provo and Salt Lake City, UT has resulted in Amtrak being rerouted through Wyoming for a few days. Here, the Zephyr is headed south on UP's Greeley Sub at Carr. The lead P42DC does not have cab signals, so UP 4473 was added as a pilot for the trip from Salt Lake to Denver.
