This is a GP10 of Illinois Central vintage. More recently, this little unit has served as one of two units on the Hollis Eastern. A railroad in southwestern Oklahoma that has about 13 miles of track total. I don't know why 50% of their motive power was in Denver on this day. However, this former GP30 is looking pretty sharp in the New Image scheme. It is a GP30 in appearance only. It has in fact been rebuilt into a GP39-2M. Meanwhile, what's up with the blue and white BNSF unit? This is a former Conrail GP38AC that BNSF has acquired. For the time being, they simply added their logo to the unit until some point in the future when it receives a full repaint. This blue and white scheme has earned these units the nickname "smurfs".
