In Colorado, coal loadings are down nearly 85% compared to where they were ten years ago! For quite some time now, Energy Mine has only been loading trains for customers within Colorado. Looks like there may be a new customer though with this train. The train originated from Curtis Bay, MD! Not sure if it is a one time thing, or if Energy has found a tiny bit of new life. The empty took the siding a few minutes ahead of us. As seen here, we shot past lead unit just before entering Byers Canyon.
