Colton is the location where the Pleasant Valley Subdivision (which runs 21 miles to the Skyline Mine) breaks off from the mainline. Here, a westbound coal load has passed the branch line, running the "wrong way" on main two.

A loaded coal train is coming off the Pleasant Valley Subdivison from the Skyline Mine. It was announced in the second half of 2003 that the Skyline Mine will be shut down in March or April of 2004.
