A wider-angle shot of the derailment of the "stinky slinky" in the trench. The derailed cars hit the retaining wall for the Light Rail tracks, disrupting the rail bed and leaving some debris on the tracks.

Tank cars, tank cars, everywhere! Derailed molten sulfur cars span all three main tracks in the Littleton trench. The train derailed the night before.

Ouch! A half dozen tractors work to re-rail the 14 remaining derailed tank cars from the Molten Sulfur train.

You really can't ask for a consist much better than this in 2008! An Oakway (EMD-leased) SD60 sandwiched by a pair of ex-ATSF warbonnets. The leader, an SD75M, is in really good shape!

I think this has to be close to the definition of a Winter Wonderland! A warbonnet SD75M and an Oakway SD60 (which is technically no longer leased by the defunct Oakway) head up the power for a southbound manifest near Blakeland.

A BNSF crew brought this local down to the Kountry Line. The switch to the Kountry Line is located off the Joint Line about 3 miles south of 20th Street. Here, the crew ties down the local and prepares to wait for a ride. The next day, a new crew will work the local on the branch.

This UP coal load is headed south toward the Joint Line on Main Two along the "Consolidated Main Line". If and when the FasTracks initiative is completed, Light Rail will actually run along these three track (where the dirt is seen here). Currently, Light Rail runs right up to the back of the station.

A pair of UP SD70ACes lead a unit rail train down Main One on the north end of the Joint Line. UP 8573 is less than seven months old in this picture, having been delivered in mid-May of 2007.

Looking for a new place to move? How about this very new loft located across the field from Union Station and right next to the north end of the Joint Line!? An empty UP rail train passes the new lofts as well as the future location of Denver's Light Rail Hub. The dirt in the foreground will house a Light Rail station in 10 (or so) years.

About eight miles north of Bragdon, this BNSF manifest is moving quickly on Main 2 headed for Denver. It had a great consist...I particularly liked the GP60M second out!

The Westinghouse Electric Corp Schnabel car doesn't even come close to fitting on the bridge over US-85 in Littleton! Make you wonder if the cars on US-85 even gave a second thought to the rather unusual load...

At Titan Road, the train carrying the hydrotreater is in the home stretch on its long journey! It has taken the train 19 days just to run from Houston to Denver. Not a simple operation by any stretch of the imagination!
