A nice high contrast black and white shot to conclude the shots of this windmill special. The train is about to enter the yard limits of 36th street, leaving track warrant territory behind. The crew on the train brought the train in from the siding of Sable and will take the train all the way to Cheyenne.

Union Pacific runs a daily manifest between Denver and Salina, KS over the Limon Sub. This is the only regularly scheduled non-coal train that runs on the KP. Here, the westbound MSIDV is less than a mile away from UP's 36th Street Yard.

Getting close to the end of its journey across the plains, this UP coal empty is crossing Steele Street approaching the Yard Limits at 36th Street. A sign of the weather in the last 24 hours is on the side of the unit...ice is draped off the running boards of the lead unit!
