The train is actually a reroute that is running through Colorado due to a derailment in Emmett, KS. The train originated in Milford, UT and is headed for Salina, KS. A zone crew has just untied the train and is preparing to take it in to North Yard for a power swap. Currently, the train is being led by an ES44AC, which is somewhat unusual for UP coal trains in Colorado. Even though the Limon Sub operates under track warrants, there is an ABS island at both ends of Mesa, allowing the dispatcher to throw the switch, saving the crew quite a bit of time.
