Such was the case on this Saturday afternoon. UP 1203 started life as a Kennecott Copper GP39-2 (KCC 782) in January 1977. It 1984, it was sold to Missouri-Kansas-Texas (MKT 383) until it joined UP's roster in 1991. It is still wearing its original UP paint scheme, although it was renumbered from UP 2353 in June 2003. On one hand we have a newly revamped GP38-2 wearing a fresh coat of blue and white GATX leasing paint. On the other hand, we have a nearly pristine (former) Cotton Belt GP40-2.
