This is one of the location where the Santa Fe tracks once crossed over the Rio Grande tracks in the pre-Joint Line days. Such was the case on this Saturday afternoon. UP 1203 started life as a Kennecott Copper GP39-2 (KCC 782) in January 1977. It 1984, it was sold to Missouri-Kansas-Texas (MKT 383) until it joined UP's roster in 1991. It is still wearing its original UP paint scheme, although it was renumbered from UP 2353 in June 2003.
