One of the last eastbounds on the Moffat for the year! The MRONY departed Roper, UT the day before and is getting close to North Yard. UP ran very few trains on New Years Eve and New Years Day, so there's not much to shoot after this one!

I came around the bend on Brighton Blvd (the road in the foreground) and came face to face with the eastbound HLINDEN (Lincoln, NE to Denver, CO) manifest. I pulled over to the shoulder to grab a few shots.

Coming past the crossovers at Pecos, the MRONY is on the North Yard siding heading for the yard. Due to the New Year holiday, this is the last eastbound to run between Roper and North Yard until January 3rd.

One of the originally painted Heritage Units hangs out on the ready track at BNSF's Diesel Shop. With the yard shut down, it probably won't be going anywhere for a few days!

A Norfolk Southern C40-9W was hanging out with BNSF power near the diesel shops. Norfolk Southern ordered their Dash-9s from GE with 4,000 HP instead of 4,400 HP, hence the C40-9W designation instead of the typical C44-9W designation.

A badly washed out Warbonnet sits on the service track near the diesel shop in Denver. Unfortunately, the majority of Warbonnets look more like this these days. Closer to white and pink rather than silver and red!

This is one of those Warbonnets that you almost hope gets repainted sooner rather than later! The red in particular has faded out to a pinkish color.

Coming around the wye from Prospect Jct, a trio of C44-9W's lead the eastbound MPVODEN. The train just came across the Moffat from Provo, UT and is about to pull into the yard at Denver, the sun getting low in the afternoon sky.
