The MNYRO (Manifest, North Yard, CO to Roper, UT) sits in the siding as its counterpart glides down the main on a clear signal. The result so far has been long trains with a lot of power! This MNYRO (Manifest, North Yard, CO to Roper, UT) has nine units on the point (of which four were currently online) and one DPU on the tail end. This unit was once an AC6000CW with a 16-cylinder HDL prime mover with 6000 horsepower. However, as the high horsepower craze died down at the start of the 21st Century, UP replaced the prime movers with 12-cylinder FDL prime movers, giving them 4400 horsepower. A pretty good morning for this photographer as I saw three of the four manifests that typically run on the Moffat in the course of 45 minutes! There was some very good dispatching on this morning at both DS-82 and DS-86 worked together to set up a couple of meets in which both trains arrived within five minutes of one another. In this case, the BNSF manifest had been stopped for less than 60 seconds when the Zephyr arrived. Just enough time for the signal at the west end of Leyden to clear up.
