Evidence that may be the case showed up on the last day of November when a loaded UP oil train came east off the Moffat. The train started in Helper and took 36 hours to make it to Denver! Note the new construction occurring on the north side of the tracks. Several multi-family homes and a few businesses (including a gas station) are being built here. This is the first UP oil train on the Moffat since April! The train loaded near Helper, UT and got held up at Bond for multiple hours. There was no rested crew when the train arrived, and then, once a crew was available, another unit needed to be added to the train. The crew on the train, which started their day on the train at Bond, had to add a unit to the train. This, along with the slow speed of the train headed up grade on the west slope, resulted in the crew being on duty for 11 hours at the time of this picture! Upon reaching Denver, the train will get a new crew and will then continue north on the Greeley Sub to Cheyenne.
