BNSF train have trackage rights on UP's Glidden Sub from Houston as far as Rosenberg. But here, they must turn on to their own tracks. UP's Glidden Sub (originally part of SP's Sunset Route) meets with BNSF's Galveston Sub and BNSF train, such as this one, move from trackage rights on UP's Glidden Sub on to their own tracks on the Galveston Sub. The Galveston Sub also continues on the right side of the shot toward Galveston, TX. Then, in the foreground at the switch, the KCS Rosenberg Sub starts, branching off from UP's Glidden Sub, heading south toward Mexico.
