With the closing of Burnham in February 2016, some old DRGW equipment (including 3006) is all that remains in Burnham. DRGW 3006 is headed for a "forever home" at the Forney Museum. This unit was delivered in April of 1989 to Santa Fe. Many of its brothers have turned in to parts donors for units like 573 that are still active. The truck is also missing an axle. The axle is being replaced (with a new traction motor). Once the axle is secured back on the truck, the front of the GP39-3 will be lifted off the ground and the truck will be rolled in place underneath it.
