Car #9, the Winter Park, has operated as the "home base" car on the Ski Train for many, many years. The Ski Train manager set up in this car and car hosts reported to this car in the mornings to get their assignments.

The standard look to the Ski Train for almost the past decade. A trio of former Amtrak F40PHs have been in charge of the train. The units were purchased from Amtrak on a "lease-to-purchase" program, which was completed in 2004.

One of the last looks at the Ansco Ski Train. The train was sold less than week earlier to a subsidiary of the Canadian National. Soon, the train will be off to Canada.

This BNSF Jordan Spreader - which is typically kept in Clovis, NM - visited Denver for a short time after a Spring Blizzard dumped up to two feet of snow in places along the Rockies.

A pair of GP38-2 leasers from Helm Leasing hang out near Roydale. These units are typically used on a local that works overnights in the area. Very clean-looking paint schemes.

A remote-equipped GP15-1 and a GP38-2 work at switching out cars at UP's 36th Street Yard in Denver. At this point, the units are indeed being remotely controlled from someone on the ground.

The Ski Train's sitting on the transfer track between UP's 36th Street Yard and BNSF's 38th Street Yard. This is the first time I've personally seen the train take this route to wye. The train held here, waiting for permission from BNSF, until long after I had to hit the road!

Need a light? It is well after sunset as a fresh UP crew ("fresh" meaning a different crew from the one that took the train to Winter Park) works to wye the train so it is prepared for its next run. You can see the route it is taking from the alignment of the switches!
