Upon reaching Denver, the crew tied the train down at the south end of Rennicks Yard where it waits for a fresh crew to take it south on the Joint Line. The GEVO is just six days shy of celebrating its five month birthday! By comparison, UP 844 is getting close to its 64th birthday. It was built in December 1944. The bases for the turbines are shipped via rail from California. The bases are sent in the form of unit trains every couple of weeks (give or take). Had things worked out differently with Tennessee Pass, this line might seen coal trains on a daily basis heading east out of Colorado. The train approaching the camera is on Main Two and has just received a fresh crew in Cheyenne. The train to the left is crossing from Main Three to Main Four, heading for a crew change itself.
