Had things worked out differently with Tennessee Pass, this line might seen coal trains on a daily basis heading east out of Colorado. The train approaching the camera is on Main Two and has just received a fresh crew in Cheyenne. The train to the left is crossing from Main Three to Main Four, heading for a crew change itself. This overpass is right at the east end of the yard. SD40-2 #3150 is sandwiched in between two sets of hoppers as its RCL crew works to rearrange the cars. Here, after 8:00pm, the head end of the westbound Zephyr is approaching the diamond at 23rd Street. In the distance, on the left side of the picture, note the eastbound Zephyr (running a few minutes late), preparing to back into Union Station. A Norfolk Southern "Catfish" (a name given to NS C44-9Ws by railfans) is sandwiched by two Warbonnets.
