CP 7020 is an SD70ACu, and in fact started life as an SD90MAC! Progress Rail rebuilt 60 of them for Canadian Pacific (and 100 for UP SD9043MACs for Norfolk Southern). The units were unveiled on Remembrance Day (Canada's version of Veterans Day in the US). While no eastern railroad is particularly common in Colorado, CSX seems to be exceptionally rare in the Centennial State. I was hoping to get plenty of KCS Belle shots as that scheme will be fading in coming years with the creation of CPKC. One thing I was not expecting was to find a CP/CSX duo leading a train through south Texas! I was not complaining, however, as the red and blue contrast was a nice variation from the yellow and orange I'm used to seeing in Colorado. However, there are some here and there. One such example is this lone (and relatively short) palm tree located just northeast of US-59 overpass at El Campo, TX, 65-70 miles southwest of Houston. The train is passing underneath US-59, which has signs along the route indicating it is the "future alignment for I-69". KCS 5007 is one of 25 ET44ACs on the roster, and probably the last units ever delivered in the KCS "Retro Belle" paint scheme.
