This is a massive manifest that has both a mid-train DPU and a tail end DPU. This is the final picture I took on this little jaunt to Nebraska for the Big Boy. I saw that because the lighting certain favored Main 1 if you wanted to capture the entire curve. Still, with the green trees in the area, this shot on Main 3 is not terrible. UP has actually gotten rid of a lot of passenger equipment recently, which is why the train is hauling a lot of UP freight rolling stock. While that is no doubt true in parts of the state, you can find some pretty scenic areas and nice curves. One curve in particular that is always worth a visit is Buttermilk Curve, just east of Brady, NE. This is 25 miles (give or take) east of North Platte along the triple track main.
