The mileposts here change from the distance to Denver via Pueblo (342 miles) to the distance to Denver direct over the Moffat (164 miles). Dotsero is where the Moffat (via the Dotsero cutoff) and Tennessee Pass converged on the journey west. You can see a leg of the branch that heads west toward Tennessee Pass in the shot. Here, the Eagle River, which Tennessee Pass follows for quite awhile, converges with the Colorado River. The Zephyr is crossing over the Eagle River and is in fact passing by the far west end of Tennessee Pass on a beautiful July day.
