This train was supposed to leave North Yard ahead of Amtrak, but after going into emergency twice when trying to leave, DS-86 held the train for Amtrak, the MNYPV, and the Ski Train! In fact, these days, it'll probably never happen again! Unpatched Espee GP60 #9794 leads two CSX ES44DCs on a unit pipe train at Cliff. I can't even remember the last time I saw a mainline train led by a four axle unit prior to this shot. The train was tied down on the siding due to maintenance ahead. UP 6067 leads 13 units (only three of which were online and working) in a light power move between North Yard and Grand Junction. In fact, on this particular Saturday, the MNYRO-28 met the MRONY-26 at Cliff. Not only was coal completely missing from the scene, but so was the sound of a four-stroke engine! The eastbound MRONY had two SD70M's, an SD40-2, and a patched SP SD40M-2 for power. The westbound had four SD70M's and they were working hard.
